Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou born Beaumont, Puy-deDomme France in August 9th 1976. She is the oldest child of 4 children. Since a young age, her dental doctor parents as well as her teacher mom supported her love of theater and drama. This passion which trumped her original desire to become a an animal scientist. Her meteoric rise as an actor in the young age was rapid and accompanied by early success. When she finished her education She was a part of the French talent-spotting TV show Jeunes Premiers which was sponsored by Canal+. She won the Most Outstanding Young Actress award at Beziers Festival of Young Actors and began her professional career as an actor. Tautou was a student at the Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris as a child and was a student there from an early age, has disavowed her Catholic childhood. She now declares herself to be non-Catholic. As well as her acting profession she started a modelling career. She is also the spokesperson for L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and is often referred to as The Chanel Muse. Recently, at the Arles Arts Festival she exhibited a collection of photographs under the heading Superficial. Through her photography, she focuses primarily on celebrity and the spotlight. The camera is turned towards journalists who scrutinized her rise to fame in Amelie. Audrey Tautou became a star after her international fame was established with her first role in Amelie Poulain in Le Fabuleux Destination d'Amelie. Amelie was a box-office international film that received acclaim at award ceremonies around the globe. Amelie is the most successful french-language film to hit the US. Following the release of this film, Tautou starred in a variety of films, ranging from British dramas and Jean Pierre Jeunet's long Sunday de Faancailles. After that, she shifted to Hollywood and starred with Tom Hanks alongside Ron Howard in The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.
