Richard B. Cheney, an accomplished businessman and public servant is vice-president. Cheney known as a popular figure on the scene of Washington politics, worked for four presidents of the US. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush chose Cheney for his vice-presidential candidate in July 2000 due to the wisdom of his judgment and expertise. Dick Cheney is a former chief of staff to presidents, and he also worked in Congress and as the Secretary of Defense. Both Republicans and Democrats are impressed by his sincerity. Cheney claims that the role he plays within the administration as one of a straightforward but discreet adviser to Bush. Cheney declared that upon accepting the Republican nomination to vice-president, he looked forward to being a part of a team that could work with a wide range of political parties as well as with his political adversaries in good faith with common visions. Richard Bruce Cheney is the child of Richard Herbert Cheney of the late Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. He was born on the 30th January 1941, in Lincoln Nebraska. When he was 13 years old, he moved along with his parents from Nebraska to Casper located in western region of Wyoming in Wyoming, where his father was director of the local district of soil conservation in the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
